The Art Of Giving

Emily Ozier As They Gather SeriesPhoto Courtesy of Allison Rodgers Photography

The immensely talented Emily Ozier (EMYO) captures the subtle and interesting beauty and behaviors of the beloved woolly sheep in her newest "As They Gather" collection of paintings. Peruse these beautiful works of art and engage in a stimulating, thought-provoking conversation with Emily, who will be on hand at Bella Vita to share her inspiration for the collection, on Saturday, March 21 from 11-3.

EMYO Trunk Show at Bella Vita

The pieces comprised in this collection were born from Emily's observations of sheep herds roaming across her countryside property in Tennessee. She found striking parallels between the behaviors of sheep and humans in that like sheep, people tend to want to be part of a "flock" or community, desiring to feel connected to other people for encouragement, camaraderie and support.

In addition, she noticed that sheep and people alike typically look to a shepherd or leader - someone who selflessly helps the herd navigate safely and successfully through life's obstacles. With Emily's exquisite style and use of rich colors, these observations developed into remarkable, one-of-a-kind, statement-making centerpieces that would make a stunning addition to any room in your home. "As they gather" is a new collection of art about sheep, but it also is a collection of art about people and about the way we need one another," said Ozier.
