As you may know, I am an only child. No siblings to speak of- no sister to share my secrets, clothes and drama. While to some it may sound fun (and trust me, at times it was!), it is also something I reflect on often. Now that I am married and writing a new chapter in my life, I have often thought to look back at memories made when it was just me, my mom and dad. There's just one problem- there are no pictures to document the memories!

It definitely wasn't because there were not memories made, because there most definitely were. I think that taking photos and having photos taken just wasn't a priority for my parents. In no way do I look down on them for it, if anything the lack of photographs has given me a deep appreciation for photography and the artwork it truly is.

One of my favorites from our recent Allison Rodgers photo session!

Why do I tell you this? Because as I sit and think of all of you whom I see everyday coming in to find original and unique pieces to make your homes and lives more beautiful, I can't help but wonder what truly makes a house a home. I look around my own home and realize that it doesn't matter how many accessories I have, how much I love my paint colors or drapes, it wouldn't mean anything if I didn't live here with my family (Brent and my beloved pup Brinkley)- those I love most. I imagine it's the same for all of you. It is the personal touches that turn a house into a home.

Brent and I recently had our second annual family photo shoot with Allison Rodgers. We enjoy every minute with her and absolutely love the end result. We sat down with her just last week and chose the shots we wanted made into prints and even splurged and chose a canvas to add to our family photo collage! In case you are curious (I know I would be!), here are some of the pictures we ended up with.

If promise you cannot go wrong with Allison Rodgers. She will have you laughing like crazy and make you feel totally at ease about being in front of the camera. I can't believe I have to wait a whole year to go back!!
