May 9th, Mother's Day, will be here before you know it so you had better start brainstorming now. To help you out we have come up with a list of the top 5 Mother's Day gifts that are sure to please. This is tried and true research; we see a lot of mom's every week! Each of the following items can be found on our website, but if you are looking for something out of ordinary and truly unique, come visit us or give us a call. We love to help you find the perfect gift; it's our specialty.

5. Reclaimed Tin Frames

Mom's favorite photos belong in a frame as unique as she is. Each frame is made from reclaimed tin that creates a one-of-a-kind piece every time. Each frame is different from the next in style, texture and color so it is easy to find a frame that will perfectly showcase her favorite photo. Frames are available in 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10, both horizontal and vertical.

4. The Gathering of Friends, Vol 2

Add to her cooking repertoire with this unique cookbook. Sections are organized into weekly menus where she will find color photos for each recipe and a grocery list for each week's menu plan. Inspirational table-scape ideas are also included to make her dinner parties as easy and carefree as her weeknight meals.

3. Visible Faith Jewelry

Sterling silver is hand stamped and poured to give a handmade look to each piece whether it be a God Tag, charm or inspirational key. The most popular line within Visible Faith are the God Tags (shown) which are a spiritual take on military dog tags. Forty-four different tags are each stamped with a symbol and scripture reference, which is explained in detail on an accompanying card. You can truly personalize the tag by attaching a second tag that has been hand stamped with names, dates or occasions that are special to your wife or mother.

2. Vintage Gypsy Necklaces

Designer and artist Paige Abernathy's creative ability to craft antique jewelry into one-of-a-kind designs that blend beauty and romance with a touch of glam is amazing. Each piece is crafted from antique jewelry she finds all over the world, leaving you with a 100% unique necklace or pair of earrings. Perfect for your 100% unique Mom.

1. Debbie Segal Bracelets

Hand hammered out of solid sterling silver, each bracelet is a work of art. Debbie Segal, a local Memphian, hammers each bracelet and hand-wraps sterling silver wire and gold filled wire around semi-precious stones and stunning cubic zirconia. The bracelets are statement making on their own, but are truly dazzling when layered together in two's or three's. To see more of Debbie Segal's unique jewelry as well as new pieces for spring, come visit with her in our store on May 7th and 8th. See our Events and Shows page for more details.

Megan started 2008 in Las Vegas where she was finishing her undergraduate degree at UNLV. Little did she know that by years' end, she would be saying "yes" to the man of her dreams. Megan, who had grown up in Cordova, TN, had a cousin who was pestering her to meet "a guy" when she returned to Cordova for the summer. Megan was hesitant, but finally gave in to the persistent requests of her cousin, Sara.  The night Megan and Brian finally met, Megan was not feeling her usual friendly self and was feeling guilty. She allowed Sara to give Brian her phone number and to Megan's surprise he called the very next day. On their first date to Chili's, Brian stole her heart with his sense of humor and she hasn't stopped laughing!

At the end of the summer Megan had to return to Las Vegas so they decided to try a long-distance relationship. Their long-distance relationship turned out to be successful because when she was home for Christmas and New Years  Brain popped the question over a romantic dinner at The Melting Pot. The long-distance continued until Megan graduated in May of 2009 when she returned home to Cordova and they hit the ground running with all the exciting wedding plans. Amidst all of the flowers and linens, Megan had to apply for Medical School and attend interviews. She credits her sanity to Brian's sense of humor- the very thing that won her heart.

Megan and Brian will be married on May 22, 2010 at the Collierville United Methodist Church. After the ceremony, the wedding party will cruise down Poplar Avenue on an old double-decker bus to their reception at the Ridgeway Country Club. Once the festivities are over, the happy couple will be making the big move back to Las Vegas where Brian has transferred so Megan can attend Medical School. It's a bittersweet time for the couple- an ending and a beginning, but they are excited to face the changes together!

A Bella Vita Registry- In Megan's Words

BV: Why did you choose Bella Vita over other stores?
MEGAN: Bella Vita is the only place we found that carried Good Earth Pottery and Casafina dinnerware. We were searching for something away from the ordinary. From the moment I saw it, I knew that is what I wanted for our dishes, and Brian actually agreed.

BV: What was it that drew you to Bella Vita?
MEGAN: Their amazing display at Southern Bride's Expo last January (2009) absolutely captivated me. I had to know where this boutique was ASAP and I took Brian there the very next day!

BV: Is there a certain feature or aspect to our bv registry that assisted you in your decision to choose Bella Vita?
Service. Service. SERVICE! Stephanie, Megan and all the other girls at bv go above and beyond to make you feel like you are their #1 priority. Personally, this is a completely new and unique experience that comes with many questions and they're always there to help you find the answer. I could go on and on, but I especially enjoyed the "perks" of registering with Bella Vita. I was able to provide great gifts to my sweet hostesses at a sweet discount!

BV: Was the selection at Bella Vita what you were expecting? Do yo feel satisfied with the dinnerware and home decor options?
MEGAN: Every time I walk through the doors of Bella Vita (and trust me, that's a lot) they have something new. If I can't find something on display that I might have seen previously, I'm assured it is still available. I know some smaller boutiques have trouble keeping up with big names like Bed, Bath and Beyond- not Bella Vita. They are such a well-managed business and we are 100% satisfied.

BV: If you were to recommend Bella Vita to a friend, what would you say?
Without hesitation: do not pass go; do not collect one hundred dollars; go straight to bella vita! Honestly, I have received some questionable service in my life and this place not only makes you feel special as a bride, but special as a person. Even though we're moving to Las Vegas, these girls will be hearing from me for a long time after May 22nd!
